The Illegible DJ Caps & Pandemonium Jones - Lyssnar
Half an hour of power recorded for then-fledgling dance music blog Discobelle. This was commissioned during C&J's 15 minutes of (limited) fame following the release of Moving In Stereo and closely coincided with us actually being invited to DJ in Sweden. The trip provided many memorable moments including seeing The Knife live in our hotel, eating reindeer carpaccio at the breakfast buffet, getting free swag at the Adidas store, playing in a giant mansion overlooking Stockholm, popping bottles of champagne in our hotel room with headliners Uffie and Feadz, popping more bottle of champagne with the Discobelle dudes after our classic-rock heavy set in Malmo, and seeing hundreds of hipsters in suits and flapper dresses doing the charleston at SpyBar's prohibition night. However, Caps and I were on the business end of a couple major miscommunications that led to us first missing our ride to the Stockholm airport for the flight to Malmo and then completely missing our flight back to Stockholm. Unsurprisingly, my attempts to arrange a return trip were ignored. Sorry, Henrik! Truly I am. We were young and foolish.
But I digress... Lyssnar was creditted by Discobelle with helping establish their web presence early on and by streetwear blog slamXhype with making Depeche Mode cool again. It still sounds fresh after 4 years and is totally suitable for your houseparty playlists. Download here via zShare.
